One of my earliest memories is the aroma of fermenting grapes as my grandfather made wine in the cellar of our house. As an adult, I lived and worked in the wine country of South Australia and fell in love with wine.
Years later, I worked at Cheers in Boston–where I wrote a book about the history of the little pub that became world famous. When the show ended and it was time for last call, I bartended the Cheers cast party.
When my wife and I moved to Franklin, Tennessee I spent several years as senior manager at Cool Springs Wine and Spirits. I have talked wine with Channel Five’s Meryll Rose on Talk of the Town, appeared as a regular guest on Clear Channel radio’s Saucy Sisters show about wine and entertaining, and I’ve hosted countless wine tastings and wine dinners. In addition to my years of experience in the wine trade, I have been certified by the National Restaurant Association to teach responsible alcohol service to servers and bartenders.
I write a regular wine column for The Tennessean. My columns have also appeared in USA Today and other publications across the country.
I have hosted many public and private wine tastings in Franklin, Tennessee and would love to craft the perfect wine event for you.
